DEPTFORD
The site is a single storey disused garage in Deptford. The house has been designed carefully to protect the privacy of both the occupants and its neighbours. Glazing facing towards neighbouring buildings will be obscured or set behind timber or metal shutters, angled to protect the privacy of the occupants and neighbours. The building’s main openings are to the South and South-East, maximising the aspect in South-facing directions to gain as much daylight as possible. Openings to the North have been kept to a minimum to prevent views towards the rear of properties on Leathwell Road and to avoid loss of heat. The main outdoor space is a roof terrace. The high boundary walls and planting maintain the privacy of users and prevent disturbance to neighbouring properties.
